the death penalty

working on my anti-capital punishment debate. can't really get an angle. it's all rubbish.

it's WRONG to kill people. [but i think mira hindly and ian brady - the moors murderers, for those who didn't know - should be *fried*, people.]
it doesn't solve ANYTHING to kill people for their wrongdoings. [it does solve something. the fact remains that people imprisoned could somehow worm their way back into society, and begin their terror all over again. jack the ripper, anyone?]
we should be forgiving as human beings, not to need the suffering of another human being to make everything okay. [if we were forgiving as humans and not needing the suffering of others, we wouldn't fucking KILL people, would we?]
the capital punishment is RACIST! [no it's fucking NOT! half as many ethnic minority group people were killed last year as white people! so don't play that card! this is NOT the 1950s!]
in texas, 23 people have been executed already!

and? what's your point?

over 50,000 have died from AIDs this year *already*,

700,000 people will sleep rough tonight and many will die this winter,

250,000 people have committed suicide already,

879,000 children have been abused this year by parents and co-workers and many will die, like 2-year old Ainlee Walker, who was starved - she weighed only 21lbs when she died - and tortured to death.

people die unnecessarily on death row, but is that the issue we should be focusing on? we should look to our own backyards: people are DYING. our ignorance is WORSE than the hangman of our Government 'justice' system. only when we have wiped out AIDs, solved homeless problems, solved the mental illnesses behind child abuse thus wiping that out as well as providing help for those who need it - only when we have picked our selfish bodies up and actually HELPED the world, can we debate the morality of the death penalty;

ooh. now if i can just turn that around to make it anti-capitalism, e.g,

so many people die in the world, everyday! stop the murder! stop capital punishment!

it is an issue i feel strongly about, i just know that i have to predict the opposing arguments i will be facing. you can put a spin on almost any piece of evidence to make it say what you want it to say. i know i'm ugly and fat, but i'm going to try and persuade that classroom of people that too many people die every year whilst we turn our backs without us actually wielding the knife and murdering our own people!
